Abstract

Social entrepreneurship is considered a backbone for the economy because it contributes to the country's development towards GDP, innovation, and job creation. Despite the significant contribution of social entrepreneurship to the economy, the study of the emerging social ventures phenomenon is relatively low and needs scholarly attention. The environment is critical as social entrepreneurs interact with the environment to grasp the opportunities, and a conducive environment boosts the new social venture creation. Therefore, the current study discusses and conducts an in-depth analysis of the environmental elements towards new social venture creation. A qualitative study method is used to explore the environmental factors for the social venture creation. Successful social entrepreneurs were interviewed to examine the environmental factors and how these factors affect social venture creation. According to the study's findings, three themes have emerged in the environment: economic, political and social, that directly affects the new social venture creation. Moreover, a developed model in this study revealed that the environment is one of the critical elements to boost new social venture creation. This model can be further tested to validate the study in order to enhance the theoretical contribution.
