Abstract

Human life should feature co-operation and integration between all fellow beings to create a just and sound society. Humans by nature loved peace and harmony: no one liked to be exploited, oppressed or dealt with unjustly by others. Such behavior is contradictory to Islamic principles. By nature, human beings are integrated and accountable to a permanent Divine Justice, following the harmony that existed in the rest of God's creation, such as the cosmos, the natural world .The sustenance and development of a society depends on justice and equality. Objectivity and fair play is the key component for social justice. A society with cruelty, brutality and injustice leads to self-destruction. Moral values and compassionate nature of Haḍrat Muḥammad (P.B.U.H) influenced the cold-hearted members of the ᶜArab society and removed the obstacles in the way of social justice. A study of the Holy Prophet's life clearly explains that without social justice, affairs cannot be developed on the right lines. In the same background, justice has been strongly emphasized in the Qurān and Sunnah. Social justice is not seen in the present age, due to which many problems have arisen. In the article under review, the importance of social justice is discussed in the light of the Prophet's biography.
