Comparative analysis of emotional stability among university teachers.

Abstract

Emotional stability enables a person to understand the feelings of others and helps in controlling his / her own emotions in different situations. An emotional intelligent person is emotionally stable. So, in this study emotional intelligence has been used to determine emotional stability. This study was designed to compare the emotional stability among university teachers with reference to their demographic factors; gender, university type (Public & Private), Job Experience. For this purpose, Theory of Emotional Intelligence (Solvey &Mayer,1990) was adopted as theoretical foundation of the research. Data were collected from teachers who were teaching at Federally charted public and private universities. For data collection questionnaire was used to get data from the targeted population. Results were compiled by using statistical tests (t.Test, ANOVA). Results of the study reveals that emotional stability is significantly related with University type (Public &Private), Gender and Job Experience. Further findings of this research showed that Female teachers having 20 years of experience of public sector universities are more emotional stable as compare to others.
