Effects of bullying on school students in Saudi Arabia: a systematic literature review
Keywords:
Bullying. Saudi Arabia. Schools. Abuse. VictimizationAbstract
This study examines the effects of bullying on school students in Saudi Arabia through a systematic review of extant literature on the subject. Its scope includes the measures that have been taken to recognize, identify and tackle the issue, the reasons for its prevalence in Saudi school settings, and the psychological factors that facilitate victimization. The methodology is based on the use of quantitative and mixed research journal articles that deal with the various aspects of the phenomenon. The results reveal a prevalence of bullying, especially involving physical violence, against male students; females, in contrast, use more verbal and psychological violence towards each other.
