Creative products under the charm of Thailand’s local lifestyle in Na Yung district in Udon Thani province

The study aimed to investigate the charm of Thailand’s local lifestyle in Na Yung District in Udon Thani Province in terms of living wisdom, and product as well as to design creative products and evaluate satisfaction towards the creative products designed and developed under the concept of the charm of Thailand’s local lifestyle in terms of living, wisdom and product. This study employed mixed methods research that was initially conducted with qualitative research for descriptive analysis and quantitative research for investigating consumer needs and evaluating the developed creative products. The participants comprised 3 design experts, 3 representatives of producers in Khiri Wong Kot Traditional Handicraft Community in Udon Thani Province, and 483 consumers selected through simple random sampling. The research methodology for data collection consisted of site visits, interviews and surveys. The result elucidated that the creative wisdom innovation based on the King’s science in Udon Thani Province was a unique product produced through a production procedure that met the standards and was an important tool in raising producers’ awareness of product standards in each type. The design and development, which derived from observing the community product production process, collaborating with producers in producing and developing creative products for distribution, and studying local materials, techniques and wisdom, were integrated with the identity of Udon Thani products to stimulate the demand of the market as well as to design creative products.
